CCIM Asks You to Be the Match

The Memphis Metro CCIM Chapter has teamed with Be the Match, a national registry for bone marrow donors who are willing to step up in the event they are matched with someone who needs a bone marrow transplant. Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, sickle cell and other life-threatening diseases need a bone marrow or umbilical cord transplant. They depend on the Be the Match registry to find a match – someone like you. If you are between the ages of 18-44, you may be able to join the registry, at CCIM will be promoting this program at the Annual Meeting September 6. The chapter invites you to stop by Friday, September 14 between 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for a light lunch and to register for Be the Match. It’s as simple and painless as filling out a form and taking a quick swab of your cheek cells. For more info, contact Cathy Anderson, CCIM, 901.282.6312.
